Shee Venath Shrine Guide

Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is known for breaking away from the traditional Zelda temples and dungeons and using shrines instead. These shrines range in difficulty from simply entering, solving a few puzzles, and collecting your spirit orb, to challenging.

While Shee Venath, the shrine we’ll guide you through, isn’t too difficult, it does take some time to solve. This shrine is labeled as “Dueling Peaks,” which gives you a glimpse into how to solve it.

I particularly enjoy this shrine, and its partner, as it forces you to explore the tops of the mountain, which encourages players to do the same in other regions of Hyrule.

Key Details Up Front

The Shee Vaneth shrine is part of the Dueling Peaks Tower Region. Solving the shrine puzzle involves another shrine, Shee Vaneer, which resides on the opposite side of the river, high on the mountaintop. These two shrines are intertwined as each is needed to solve the other.

Where to Find the Shee Venath Shrine

Shee Venath Shrine Guide

The Shee Venath Shrine is located in the West Nucleda region, near the Dueling Peaks tower and the Dueling Peaks stable. Shee Vaneth is on the north side of the Squabble River, which cuts through the broken Dueling Peaks mountain. However, you’re going to have to climb to reach it as it resides near the peak.

On the other side of the river is the Shee Vaneer Shrine, which you’ll need to complete the Shee Vanath Shrine.

Solving the Shee Venath Shrine

The Sher Venath Shrine is different than other shrines in Hyrule. This is because it needs its twin, the Shee Vaneer shrine, to solve it. There’s nothing complicated about the shrine itself. There are no puzzles or riddles to figure out and you won’t need your runes. The only thing you have to do is access each shrine and remember the layout of each.

The first thing you want to do is enter Shee Vaneer. It’s the shrine south of the Squabble River. It’s very high up, so stock up on stamina replenishing goodies, and start climbing!

Once you’re in, look to the left and find the elevator platform. Take the elevator up to the next floor so you can see the entire layout of the shrine. Look at the orbs and their placement on the floor. If you need to, take a picture or draw yourself a doodle on a piece of paper.

Leave the Shee Vaneer shrine and head across the river to the Shee Venath Shrine. It sits a little lower than its counterpart and a bit to the west. If you need to, use your Sheikah Slate to find it. When you do, head into the shrine.

Once again, take the elevator down, but this time look to the right. Do the same thing you did in the Shee Veneer shrine and take the platform up to the second level so you can get a good look at the floor and the layout of the orbs.

Before you start rearranging orbs, draw another picture or take a screenshot as you’ll need this arrangement to solve the Shee Vaneer Shrine. Once you have an image, drop down to the floor and arrange the orbs so that they are the same as the arrangement in the Shee Vaneer Shrine.

Orb Arrangement

Orb Arrangement

To get the door to open up, you’ll need to make sure all the orbs are in the right bowl. If you forgot to write it down or take a picture, here is how they should be arranged if you’re looking down at them from above:

  • First column, orb goes in the third row
  • Second column, orb goes in the first row
  • Third column, orb goes in the fourth row
  • Fourth column, orb goes in the second row
  • Fifth column, orb goes in the fifth row (lower right corner)

When all the orbs are in the correct place, the door in front of you will spring open. Go through the door and find the ladder on the left. Climb up it, talk to the monk, and obtain another spirit orb!

Shee Veneer

Shee Veneer

To solve both shrines, do the same thing in the Shee Veneer shrine. Fortunately, you can fast travel back to Shee Vaneer, so you don’t have to waste time climbing up the mountain again. Use your picture to arrange the orbs. Once they’re in the right place, the door will open. However, this time the door is on the right.

That’s it! You’ve solved two shrines in a matter of minutes.

Treasure Chest

If you missed it, there is a treasure chest in the Shee Venath Shrine. When you get to the second floor of the shrine, run to the opposite wall. Glide around to the other side of the wall where you’ll find a chest. It might take a few tries, but don’t give up. Inside the chest is a Serpentine Spear.

Nearby Shrines

In addition to the Shee Vaneth and Shee Vaneer shrines, there are a few other shrines you can quickly complete to grab a few more spirit orbs.

The first one is the Ree Dahee Shrine, which is on a small ledge below the Shee Venath Shrine. If you haven’t already completed it, just glide down below or follow your Sheikah Slate.

Also nearby is the Ha Dahamar Shrine. This one is directly across from the Dueling Peaks Stable, so you shouldn’t have any trouble finding it. If you’re not sure how to access it, use your Cryonis Rune to create a block of frozen ice and jump over the wooden spikes.

Twinning!

Shee Venath is a unique shrine in that it requires the help of another shrine to complete it. By using the layout of the Shee Veneer Shrine – and vice versa – Link can quickly solve two shrines in a short amount of time.

Just remember that you need one to solve the other, so don’t forget to draw a picture or take a screenshot of the way the orbs are arranged on the floor. That makes solving this shrine that much easier. Have fun and keep exploring!
